Pam Martin Wells is the 3rd women angler to grace the cover of Bassmaster Magazine. Kimberly Striker was the 2nd and an un-identified woman was on the June 1995 cover. Also in that issue was a special report about Women In Fishing by Soc Clay. The issue (pictured above) was taken to a Bassmaster Classic in Greensboro, North Carolina in August of that same year where it was autographed by many of the male anglers fishing the event. Other autographs include Helen Sevier and Ray Scott. It was the first time I had ever attended a Classic. I actually went to see Lucy Mize who was there supporting her husband. If I am not mistaken, I believe it was his first Classic appearance. At that time, Linda England was the only woman to have earned a paycheck on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail. Several female anglers were featured in the 1995 issue including Pam Martin-Wells.
