Women anglers welcome the New Year and anxiously prepare for
Tour Stop # 1 on Toledo Bend in March.

Kathi Hurst, pro-angler from Ripley,
Mississippi was the only woman angler who qualified to fish the
inaugural ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series National Championship.

Tiffany Michelle Stone Duncan, co-angler from Fort Worth, Texas
lost her battle with cancer on February 4, 2006. She was 39
years old. Tiffany fished the WBT Preview event on Lake
Lewisville, Texas in October, 2005 and was looking forward to
the 2006 WBT Tour. Tiffany was also a member of Dallas Bass n
Gals.

The Bassmaster’s Classic was held in
Kissimmee, Florida. Approximately 25 women anglers were present
to promote the Women’s Bassmaster Tour and represent their
sponsors.

The first
tournament of the 2006 season on Toledo Bend was re-scheduled for September on Bull
Shoals in Theodosia, Missouri.
April
Melinda Mize,
pro-angler from Ben Lomond, Arkansas was called to active duty
overseas and had to put her WBT dreams on hold until her return
to the States in June of 2007.

the dock in Gadsden, Alabama just before launch on Day One of
the first tournament of the WBT 2006 season.

trophy and a

rig.
