Two years have passed since a
dream became a reality for a young mother of two in
Omaha, Nebraska. For Angie Michaels, the dream was not a
selfish one. It was her desire to enhance the lifestyle
of female anglers of all ages with quality gear
ergonomically designed to be comfortable, lightweight,
versatile and fun. Michaels also wanted to share her
passion for the sport by reaching out to young girls
through education and hands-on experience that would
allow them to grow their fishing skills and their
self-confidence. Thus, FishHER was born!

Angie Michaels promotes her products at
tackle retail stores around the country.
As
with most newborns, it was only appropriate to dress the FishHER
products in a color that was unique and special. Michaels chose
Lavender. It was a natural choice as most women are drawn to its
delicate suggestions of refinement and elegance. A color that
allows women anglers to have a choice and a voice in what they
want in the way of fishing gear.
Although Michaels is a saltwater angler at heart, she takes
advantage of every opportunity to expand her knowledge of
different species of fish and how to catch them. Her versatility
helps her to connect with the youngest angler to the oldest
veteran of the sport. Her enthusiasm is contagious because her
passion is real.
The
highlight of her journey thus far was receiving one of six
leadership awards given by the Recreational Boating and Fishing
Foundation at ICAST in Las Vegas in July of this year for her
involvement with the Anglers’ Legacy program.
Michaels recently launched a new website called Pescadora.net.
It is her desire to offer Spanish speaking anglers and their
families another option by choosing tackle and clothing in a
familiar shopping atmosphere. Pescadora means fisherwoman in
Spanish.
More
and more women are getting outdoors and having fun. They are
finding their niche in a former “male dominated” sport and
getting the attention of the fishing industry whose survival
depends on the increase of fishing license sales and tackle
sales.
FishHER Fusion is gaining momentum and the FishHER and Pescadora
website are loaded with information and products to take
the”work” out of fishing and put the “happy” in being outdoors.
If you are a female that enjoys participating in the sport of
fishing, if you fish for pleasure or for occupation, if you
embrace nature and practice conservation efforts, if you
encourage and teach other women and girls to fish, then you are
a FishHER.
Welcome
aboard! You will have an aspiring time!
