"The Big Friendly"
I'm baaack!!! Don't I look all fresh and
colorful and rested up from my winter vacation? Well, Christmas
was a blast, I got almost everything I wanted and I have been
looking forward to 2007 and wetting my fins in some new lakes!
Speaking of new lakes, I'm going to Del Rio....I'm going to Lake Amistad! As you can tell, I am already in a festive mood and
ready to celebrate with my border relatives. Bet you didn't know
that all my Ex's live in Texas did you? Luckily, none of them are
in Lake Amistad....lucky for them that is.
I've been reading some great stuff about
Lake Amistad. I bet in that crystal clear water, I can see you
gals no matter which side of the border waters you are fishing
in and, I have lots of hydrilla to hide under and trees to
tangle your drop-shot line. However, if you toss down a nice
margarita, I might come out
and entertain you with an underwater
Mexican "E" dance. Oops....sorry, I forgot, no alcohol allowed
on your boat during tournament hours. "E" believes that you
should always follow the rules and boat safely. Maybe you can
slip away for awhile during tournament week and hitch a cab to
Ciudad Acuna and sip on a "real" margarita or satisfy your taste
buds with some authentic South of the Border specialties.
I have also been told that the people of
Del Rio are very friendly, just like a true Texan should be! We
should all have a great time. I will be hanging around the
Diablo East ramp and watching the activities. I have to keep my
distance you know. I didn't get this old large mouth by being
careless!
Have a safe trip to Lake Amistad! Is it
February yet?

E's Secret
What a year we have all had so far! These
old fins have done some traveling. I know one thing for sure, I
am smarter than those two whales in California. At least I can
find my way from one lake to another without getting lost.
Lake Guntersville was lots of fun and so
beautiful with all that grass and lily pads to hide in. I really
hated to leave, but that Kentucky Bluegrass was calling me
north. I must admit that I have only been in this lake one time
and that was about 12 years ago. I remember it's beauty and it's
depth and the strength of the river current, not to mention all
the barge traffic. Oh yeah....it also contains some hefty "largemouths
and smallmouths".
I decided to arrive early and become
re-acquainted with some old friends and see how they felt about
all you women anglers headed there in mid-June. I warned them of
your talents as anglers, but re-assured them that if caught,
they would get the ride of their life, get to cross a stage in
front of the ESPN cameras and be seen around the world, and then
get a special ride back to their underwater homes. Most of them
said that they would still rather out-wit the anglers than take
the ride.
As for the "secret", if I told you, it wouldn't be a secret
would it?
